Financial wellness resources in Roanoke

 

Navigating graduate school and adult life​ is often stressful. There are many services within Virginia Tech and Carilion Clinic to help navigate financial wellness in graduate school. Please reach out to the RGSA Wellness Chair if there is anything you would like to see added this this list.

  • Financial assistance for medical services is offered by Carilion Clinic for low-resource patients, including students. Specifically, households with less than $25,000 in available assets are eligible for FREE emergency and necessary medical procedures. Read more about this assistance and how to apply HERE

  • Financial wellness coaching and courses are offered by Hokie Wellness and are available to Roanoke-based students as well. A financial counselor can even travel to the HS&T campus to meet with you in person. Click HERE to read more about financial workshops and scheduling for one-on-one appointments.

  • A PhD candidacy tuition discount is available for both Roanoke- and Blacksburg-based VT students who have completed their coursework and passed their preliminary exam. Click HERE to learn more about this 10% tuition discount and how to apply.
